Marlon Hoffstadt Joins Capitol Records With New Double-Single

Berlin-based producer and DJ Marlon Hoffstadt has signed with Capitol Records, marking a measured transition from independent circuit mainstay to artist with major-label backing. Hoffstadt, who operates under the alias DJ Daddy Trance and runs the Club Heart Broken imprint, announced the deal alongside a new double-single: “Supersonic” and “Hands Up In The Sky.

The partnership—facilitated by Capitol, Goodlife Management, MC3, and Hoffstadt’s longstanding representation at Invisible Hand—signals a shift in scale rather than direction. In his own words, it took years to secure a deal that felt “perfect.” The statement reflects a deliberate approach, not only to his sound, but to his trajectory.

“Supersonic,” which features vocals from Swedish singer Emma Skøien, prioritizes pace and propulsion. Skøien’s sharp, clipped lines emerge over a track structured to simulate momentum—four-to-the-floor rhythm, layered synth stabs, and brief, restrained buildups. It’s not a reinvention of rave music, but a clean execution of form, favoring clarity over excess.

“Hands Up In The Sky,” its counterpart, relies on arpeggiated patterns and vocal samples that stretch and loop, leaning toward a more euphoric tone. The track has been used in Hoffstadt’s recent EDC Las Vegas set, which closed the festival’s mainstage—his U.S. live debut. There, the track served as a transitional bridge, shifting from heavier techno into melodic terrain, suggesting versatility in function rather than breakthrough innovation.

While the songs themselves don’t signal a radical departure from his earlier work, Hoffstadt’s ascent mirrors a broader trend in electronic music: the gradual movement of independent artists into institutional frameworks. Comparisons can be drawn to artists like Logic1000 or KI/KI, who began in niche circles and have since gained international recognition without abandoning their origins.

If the music does not redefine genre conventions, it reflects a maturing artist with a strategic grip on his brand and audience. Capitol’s investment appears less about novelty and more about scale—a platform for Hoffstadt to extend his reach while remaining aligned with his foundational ethos.
