DJ Diesel Asserts His Dominance With New Moshpit-Ready EP ‘M.D.E’
Shaquille O’Neal, better known in the EDM world as DJ Diesel, has released his latest project M.D.E (Most Dominant Ever) — a high-octane, nine-track EP built for the chaos of the moshpit. Out now via Monstercat, the record sees Diesel team up with an impressive roster of bass music heavyweights including Virtual Riot, IVORY, SampliFire, Benda, and more.
True to its name, “M.D.E” is an explosive statement of intent. It kicks off with the cinematic title track featuring RZRKT, escalating from tense atmospherics into a barrage of dubstep drops. From there, the energy only climbs. “Animal” brings a raw punch with gritty verses from Diesel and brutal production by SampliFire and IVORY.
One of the standout moments comes with “Damage,” a track co-produced with Virtual Riot that shifts unpredictably from acoustic guitars into blistering drum and bass territory. Diesel’s vocals cut through the mix with precision, setting the tone for the rest of the record. Tracks like “Run It” and “Fadeaway” lean deeper into trap-inflected builds and devastating drops, showcasing Diesel’s evolution not just as a performer, but as a capable curator of sound and collaborators.
“This project is bigger than just music,” Diesel said in a statement. “M.D.E is a celebration of the culture, of the moshpit, of the bass community.”
With “M.D.E”, DJ Diesel isn’t just reinforcing his presence in the bass scene — he’s expanding it. The EP feels less like a collection of singles and more like a coordinated assault on the senses. With Bass All-Stars shows lined up across the U.S., a Las Vegas residency at The Wynn, and upcoming sets at Pacha in Barcelona and Bootshaus in Germany, Diesel’s dominance in 2025 is just getting started.
