From Prison to the Studio: DJ Tom Swoon’s New Chapter

Polish DJ Tom Swoon is making a comeback after serving a prison sentence. After almost ten years away from the music scene, Dorian Tomasiak, who goes by the name DJ Tom Swoon, is back. He shared a heartfelt message on social media saying, “After almost a decade, I have decided to give myself a second chance,” showing he’s ready to start a new chapter in both his personal life and career.

DJ Tom Swoon first became known worldwide for his music under that name. He made melodic progressive house and big room tracks and was signed to major labels like Spinnin’ Records and Armada. He worked with big names in the EDM world, including Tiësto, Hardwell, and Nicky Romero. His songs were played at top festivals like Ultra Music Festival and Tomorrowland. In 2015, he was ranked 46th in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list.

His career took a sudden turn in December 2017. While driving under the influence in his hometown of Goleniów, he caused a car crash that killed one person and hurt another. He admitted to causing the accident and was sentenced to four years and eight months in prison in 2018. He also had to pay compensation to the victim’s family and couldn’t drive for the rest of his life. The incident forced him to stop the Tom Swoon project.

During his time away, Tom Swoon took time to think about his life and choices. He later came back to music under the name Dorian Numan. In 2021, he released the song “Collide,” which he had written before his imprisonment. The track shows his feelings of regret and personal growth. Fans have seen more activity on his social media accounts, which makes people think he might be working on new music. His return shows not just a comeback in his career, but also a personal effort to move past a tragic event and rebuild his life with renewed strength and determination.
