Bedouin & Robin M ft. Skye – Heavy On My Mind

Bedouin, the popular DJ/producer duo, are marking five years of their label Human By Default with the release of their new single “Heavy On My Mind” feat. SKYE, in collaboration with London-based producer and DJ Robin M, and featuring guest vocals from singer-songwriter SKYE.

“Heavy On My Mind” feat. SKYE is seductive and perfect for the dance floor. With a deep, percussive rhythm and a steadily building, tense tempo, the track delivers a smooth, hypnotic atmosphere made for euphoric dance floor moments. It has been a staple in Bedouin’s sets since February, when they performed at Miami’s Space club alongside Jimi Jules. The track has already gained support from industry heavyweights such as Pete Tong and Adam Port.

Tamer Malki and Rami Abousabe, the duo behind Bedouin, have spent over a decade crafting their unique sound, blending diverse genres and connecting with a global audience. Inspired by their Middle Eastern roots and Western upbringing, they’ve performed at major festivals like Coachella, Tomorrowland, and Burning Man, as well as iconic clubs including Brooklyn Mirage, Ushuaïa, Hï Ibiza, and Pacha Ibiza. Known for their intricate production, they’ve released music on major labels such as Crosstown Rebels and Big Beat, and their remixes have been put out through Ultra, Sony/Universal, and other major players. Their SAGA Ibiza residency, launched in 2017, became a key part of the island’s scene and won the DJ Award for “Best Night in Ibiza” in 2019. Speaking about their new single, the duo said: “We made this track with summer in mind… our new collaboration with Robin M and SKYE is ready to become your soundtrack, whether on or off the dance floor.”

Robin M, the London-based producer featured on the track, captivates audiences worldwide with his signature blend of deep, percussive, and melodic house music. He previously remixed Bedouin’s “Coldman” and released two EPs on Human By Default. A vinyl enthusiast and music lover, Robin draws inspiration from his Italian, Ethiopian, and British heritage, as well as from the energy of London, where he grew up. His distinctive sound has made him one of the most exciting new names in the scene. He is also the founder of underground label Ulu Records, and his tracks are regularly played on BBC Radio 1, supported by top DJs like Black Coffee, Keinemusik, Shimza, and Adriatique. About the collaboration, he says: “‘Heavy On Your Mind’ came together during one of those rare, spontaneous sessions where everything just clicked. After that, Bedouin and I polished it with a natural flow. We knew it needed a new vocal to lift it up, and I immediately thought of my friend Skye from Morcheeba. She blew us away—her voice gave the track life.”

SKYE adds: “I’m thrilled to be part of this beautiful song. It has an energetic, soulful vibe. The lyrics are about longing and desire. I can’t wait to hear it loud in a club.”

Skye Edwards, known as SKYE, rose to fame in the mid-1990s as the lead singer of Morcheeba. Over nearly three decades, the band has released 11 albums, sold over 10 million copies, toured the world, and appeared on numerous film soundtracks. Alongside her work with Morcheeba, SKYE has built a successful solo career with four acclaimed albums: Mind How You Go (2006), Keeping Secrets (2009), Back to Now (2012), and In a Low Light (2015). Her solo sound blends soul, trip-hop, and folk, and she has a loyal fanbase worldwide.

Beyond Morcheeba, SKYE has collaborated with various artists and projects, including Dan Joeright’s Earth Moon Earth, Marc Collin of Nouvelle Vague, recorded a cover of “Solid Air” for a John Martyn tribute album, and took part in Uncovered: QOTSA, covering Queens Of The Stone Age songs. Last year, she worked with DJ Andrea Oliva on a soulful/afrotech piano track, “Dancing In The Rain.”
