Cromby Honors Belfast’s Iconic Mandela Hall with New EP

Berlin-based DJ and producer Cromby has dropped his latest work of art, the Mandela Hall EP, a love letter to Belfast’s legendary venue where he first began to get his feet wet in the rave scene. The four-track EP reflects the wide range of musical genres that characterise Cromby’s existence.

Mandela Hall, formerly McMordie Hall, has been a Belfast musical institution since its opening in 1967. Renamed in 1986 after Nelson Mandela, it has hosted everything from 808 State and The Orb to Van Morrison. Closed in 2018 for refurbishment, it reopened in 2022 with state-of-the-art facilities and is now one of Belfast’s leading music venues.

Cromby‘s connection to Mandela Hall runs deep; he gained a residency at age 18 and began his entry into the world of electronic music. The EP captures the essence of those formative club nights, piecing together a patchwork of energetic and disparate tracks that reflect the venue’s musical diversity.

Mandela Hall is released on Cromby’s imprint, Potency Records, and is available to purchase in a variety of formats, including vinyl and digital downloads. The record is a must-listen for anyone familiar with Belfast’s thriving music scene and has received accolades from fans for its nostalgic appeal and contemporary production values.

Cromby’s Mandela Hall EP is a love letter to the enduring legacy of a cultural institution. With its infectious rhythms and nostalgic charm, this EP is sure to resonate with UK club music enthusiasts and everyone who’s been fortunate enough to experience Mandela Hall.
