Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” Joins Elite Company in Spotify’s Billion-Stream Club
Daft Punk, along with Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers, has achieved a significant milestone as their hit single “Get Lucky” joins Spotify’s billion-stream club. This marks Daft Punk’s first song to reach such heights as the primary artist, following their features on The Weeknd‘s tracks “Starboy” and “I Feel It Coming.”
“Get Lucky” was released just over a decade ago as the lead single from Daft Punk’s final album, Random Access Memories. It has now become one of the over 500 songs in Spotify’s history to surpass one billion streams. Notably, “Starboy” is on the verge of reaching three billion streams, a feat accomplished by only four other tracks: “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd, “Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran, “Someone You Loved” by Lewis Capaldi, and “Sunflower” by Post Malone and Swae Lee.
Daft Punk’s influence on the music industry and their ability to create timeless hits is showcased by this achievement. “Get Lucky” takes listeners on a nostalgic journey, capturing the essence of roller rinks and the disco era.
