Fred V & Grafix Announce Exclusive DJ Set Reunion in London

Fred V & Grafix, one of the most celebrated duos in the drum & bass scene, are set to reunite for a special DJ set in London. The duo, known for their melodic and uplifting approach to drum & bass, made waves in the genre with iconic tracks like “Ultraviolet” and “Altitude.” Their much-anticipated reunion comes after a nearly five-year hiatus following their decision to amicably split in December 2018 to pursue solo careers.

Fred V and Grafix first rose to prominence under the prestigious drum & bass label Hospital Records, where they signed a three-album deal. Their 2016 album ‘Oxygen’ became a defining release in the liquid drum & bass subgenre, showcasing their ability to merge emotional, atmospheric soundscapes with energetic beats. The duo decided to part ways after their third album, concluding a journey they both felt had run its course. Fred V expressed at the time that their work together had reached a natural conclusion after the completion of their album deal with Hospital Records.

Now, the duo is reuniting for a rare DJ set, hosted by Hospitality, the global events arm of Hospital Records. The event will take place at the iconic O2 Academy Brixton, marking the first drum & bass event at the venue since it reopened in April 2024. The venue had been closed following a tragic crowd crush in December 2022, which resulted in the deaths of two people and several injuries. With new safety measures now in place, O2 Academy Brixton is once again welcoming drum & bass fans to its legendary space.

The event, set for Halloween 2024, is expected to be a major draw for fans of the genre. Joining Fred V & Grafix on the lineup are some of the most prominent names in drum & bass, including Camo & Krooked, Metrik, and P Money x Whiney. The day party will span eight hours, offering fans a comprehensive experience of the current drum & bass landscape. One of the highlights of the event will be a special back-to-back (b2b) performance from Nu:Tone and London Elektricity, who will present a “History of Hospital” set, filled with classics from the label’s extensive catalog.

Hospital Records founder Chris Goss expressed his excitement about the event, noting the significance of returning to O2 Academy Brixton. Goss reflected on the memorable shows that Hospital Records has held at the venue in the past, including the launch of Netsky Live and Camo & Krooked’s debut stage production. “This is going to be special,” Goss said, acknowledging the historic significance of the venue and the community surrounding it.

For fans of Fred V & Grafix, this rare reunion DJ set offers an opportunity to once again experience the magic that the duo brings to the drum & bass world. With a stellar lineup and a legendary venue, the Halloween event at O2 Academy Brixton promises to be a standout moment in the 2024 drum & bass calendar.
