Röyksopp Announces New Album and Global DJ Tour

Norwegian electronic duo Röyksopp, comprising Svein Berge and Torbjørn Bruntland, has revealed plans for a new album. Titled True Electric, the record is set to release on April 11, following last December’s Nebulous Nights – An Ambient Excursion Into Profound Mysteries. Alongside the announcement, they have shared a fresh version of “What Else Is There? (True Electric),” featuring Fever Ray and Trentemøller.

The track originally appeared on their 2005 album The Understanding. This updated rendition reflects the style and energy of a live Röyksopp DJ set. Most of the songs on True Electric are reimagined versions of earlier works, including collaborations with Robyn such as “The Girl and the Robot” and “Monument.”

The duo described the project as a collection designed to capture the atmosphere of their live performances under the same name. They aimed to highlight the club-focused side of their sound while paying homage to their roots in electronic music.

Röyksopp will begin a DJ tour this week, with performances scheduled across Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and the United States. Fans can find the full list of tour dates below:
