Calvin Harris stole the spotlight at the prestigious BRIT Awards 2024, clinching his third win and delivering a mesmerizing performance alongside Ellie Goulding at London’s O2 Arena.
Adding another accolade to his illustrious career, Calvin Harris secured the title of Best British Dance Act at the BRIT Awards 2024. Besting a competitive field including Barry Can’t Swim, Becky Hill, Fred Again, and Romy, the Scottish DJ graciously accepted the esteemed award, dedicating it to the iconic radio show and his collaborator Ellie Goulding.
In a heartfelt speech on stage, Harris expressed his gratitude to Ellie Goulding for her contribution to his chart-topping single “Miracle,” a track that resonated with audiences in 2023. Additionally, he paid homage to Danny Rampling’s influential ‘Love Groove Dance Party,’ a beloved dance music program that left an indelible mark on the British music scene during the 1990s.
“This award is a tribute to Danny Rampling’s ‘Love Groove Dance Party,’ and I want to extend my deepest thanks to Ellie Goulding, wherever she may be. Ellie, your support means the world to me, and I couldn’t have achieved this without you,” Harris humbly expressed, capturing the essence of his appreciation.
This victory marks the third BRIT Award for Calvin Harris, having previously clinched the titles of British Producer of the Year in 2019 and British Single of the Year in 2020 for “One Kiss” with Dua Lipa. Regarded as the most successful British dance act in history, Harris boasts an impressive tally of 10 UK number-one singles and four UK number-one albums.
Amidst the celebration, Harris shared a heartwarming moment with his wife Vick Hope’s parents, seated beside him at the event. The DJ, who tied the knot with TV presenter Vick Hope in a private ceremony last year, basked in the love and support of his family, showcasing the personal significance of the evening.
Hosted by Jack Whitehall, the BRIT Awards 2024 celebrated the pinnacle of British and international music, featuring electrifying performances from RAYE, Dua Lipa, Chase & Status, and an unforgettable set by Calvin Harris himself. The event showcased the diversity and dynamism of the music industry, honoring excellence across various genres.
