Empire of the Sun’s “Ask That God” Album: An Electro-Pop Journey

Empire of the Sun has returned with their fourth album, Ask That God, via Capitol Records. After an eight-year break since Two Vines, the band invites fans, known as the Empyreans, back into their musical universe.

Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore bring a spiritual touch to their music, focusing on themes of transformation and self-discovery. The album features singles like “Changes,” “Cherry Blossom,” and “Music on the Radio,” each paired with a visually stunning video directed by Michael Maxxis and shot in Thailand.

The album’s diverse sound reflects the band’s evolution, with tracks like “Television” and “Revolve” offering a mix of upbeat anthems and introspective melodies. These songs are designed to take listeners on a journey, encouraging them to explore their imaginations and emotions.

Ask That God” includes collaborations with Salem Al Fakir and Vincent Pontare, renowned for their work with Avicii and Swedish House Mafia. The tracks explore themes of rebirth, nostalgia, and the cosmic contrast between heaven and earth.

Empire of the Sun will tour this fall in Australia, Mexico, and the US, bringing their uplifting sound to live audiences.
