It Won’t Revolutionize The World: Elon Musk is not impressed by Metaverse
Elon Musk, the founder of space exploration company Space X and overall “the richest private citizen in history” thinks that bulky headsets made by Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg are too awkward. The business magnate got honest in a rare interview with YouTube channel “The Babylon Bee,” “Sure you can put a TV on your nose, I’m not sure that makes you ‘in the metaverse.”
Musk told that people talk to him a lot about the Metaverse but it’s obvious that the virtual world doesn’t interest him, “I don’t know if I necessarily buy into this Metaverse stuff.” He believes that people won’t replace the real, physical world with a virtual one, especially with a screen on their faces, “I don’t see someone strapping a frigging screen to their face all day and not wanting to ever leave.” Musk insists that the VR glassed can’t deliver the metaverse experience and added that Neuralink, owned by him, is a better idea compared to VR glasses.
The 50-year-old genius’ comments came after Mark Zuckerberg rebranded Facebook to “Meta” earlier this year. See the full interview below.
