About Diego Stijnen
Diego Stijnen is a Dutch DJ and producer who was formerly part of the electronic music duo Moksi. He started his musical career as a drummer in a punk rock band before switching to electronic music. He met Samir Ait Moh in 2015 and formed Moksi, which became known for their energetic and eclectic style of bass house music. They released several EPs and singles on Barong Family, as well as their debut album The Return of House Music in 2019. They also collaborated with DJ Snake, Yellow Claw, Chocolate Puma, Hardwell, and many others. In 2023, Stijnen announced his departure from Moksi and launched his solo project SUMMUM, which showcases his love for house, minimal, and electro music.
Diego and Sam have been close friends for over a decade, but it wasn’t until four years ago that they embarked on their musical journey together. Despite growing up in neighboring cities, their paths didn’t truly cross until Sam found himself DJing on top of a food truck at Solar Festival in Diego’s hometown of Roermond. Unfortunately, the crowd seemed more interested in devouring pizza than getting into the music, leaving Sam in need of assistance. It was at that moment, as Diego walked by, that their collaboration was born. From that day forward, they discovered a shared passion for performing together, realizing that music has always been a unifying force in their lives—or perhaps we should say, a force as strong as food itself.
