Stevie Wonder To Receive Icon Award From Legal Defence Fund
Stevie Wonder will receive the inaugural Icon Award at a Legal Defense Fund event in the near future.
The 34th National Equal Justice Awards Dinner, which will be hosted at the Lincoln Center in New York City on May 10th, will honor the iconic singer.
According to a statement obtained by Billboard, Wonder will be honored for “his steadfast work throughout his illustrious career, spanning over half a century, which embodies LDF’s values and demonstrates his commitment to confronting the barriers that face Black Americans and other marginalised communities.”
The evening will also include video greetings from former US First Lady Michelle Obama and former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, as well as two Dance Theatre of Harlem performances.
