Tomorrowland Main Stage Burns Just Days Before Festival: Watch Now
Tomorrowland, one of the most iconic EDM festivals in the world, just suffered a massive blow. Its main stage—an elaborate centerpiece that takes months to build—caught fire and burned down only two days before the event was scheduled to begin.
The fire broke out Tuesday afternoon, with photos and videos circulating online showing flames engulfing the massive structure. Belgian news outlet VRT confirmed the incident, reporting that fireworks were heard during the blaze and that the stage was “almost completely destroyed.” Emergency crews rushed to the scene and worked to put out the fire.
Thankfully, no festival-goers were on-site at the time. The first weekend of the festival was set to start Friday, July 18th, so the grounds were still closed to the public. At this point, it’s unclear if anyone was injured, and the cause of the fire hasn’t been confirmed.
Every year, Tomorrowland pulls out all the stops with pyrotechnics, LED walls, moving parts, and intricate stage builds—and while it looks stunning, it also leaves a lot of room for something to go wrong. Fireworks during the fire suggest the stage’s pyrotechnic setup may have played a role.
As of now, Tomorrowland hasn’t released a public statement about whether the festival will continue, be delayed, or cancel altogether. With fans flying in from all over the world, the pressure is on to make a decision fast.
Whatever happens next, this is a massive disruption for a festival known for its precision and spectacle.
The Tomorrowland mainstage is currently on fire — updates will be provided as applicable.
