Cassius to Release “Best Of” Album Spanning Two Decades of Iconic Music

French electronic duo Cassius is set to release a new compilation album, Best Of 1996-2019, on October 11 through LOVESUPREME/Justice. The 20-track collection will be available on vinyl and digital formats, featuring highlights from their illustrious career as well as three tracks making their debut on digital platforms.

The album reflects the creative partnership between producers Hubert “Boombass” Blanc-Francard and the late Philippe “Zdar” Cerboneschi. The duo, who started collaborating in the late ’80s under various aliases, officially formed Cassius in 1996. Best Of 1996-2019 includes landmark tracks like “Cassius 1999,” “I <3 U SO,” “Toop Toop,” and “Don’t Let Me Be.”

Fans can now pre-order the vinyl edition, which spans their influential contributions to the French touch movement, blending house, funk, and disco into a unique sound that left a lasting mark on electronic music.

As part of the release, Blanc-Francard has also written a short story titled How Do You See Me Now?, offering personal insights into Cassius’s journey. The story is available to read online.

Last month, Boombass performed for the first time under the Cassius name since Zdar’s passing in 2019, appearing at the closing ceremony of the Paris Paralympics.

The upcoming Best Of compilation serves as both a tribute to their legacy and a celebration of the duo’s groundbreaking work over two decades.
