Alesso Delivers Electro Fire with Hypnotize EP and Debuts Body Hi Label

The wait is over! After nearly two years of anticipation, Swedish DJ and producer Alesso has finally dropped his long-awaited Hypnotize EP. But that’s not all – Alesso has also unveiled his brand new label, Body Hi, which serves as the namesake for his fresh live show concept premiered at Coachella this year.

The three-track Hypnotize EP features the title track alongside previously released cuts “Zig Zag” and “The Rhythm of the Night.” We’ve already explored “Zig Zag” in a previous article, so let’s delve into the remaining tracks.

“Hypnotize,” along with the co-produced Look Inside Our Hearts with Martin Garrix, was arguably Alesso’s most highly anticipated track in recent memory. Social media was buzzing with questions about its release, but Alesso remained focused, waiting for the perfect moment to launch Body Hi first. The wait was worth it – “Hypnotize” is a stunning display of Alesso’s electro mastery, featuring fiery vocals and intricate sound design.

“The Rhythm of the Night” takes a different turn. Originally conceived as a VIP mix for Alesso’s collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign, “Caught a Body,” the track evolved into a reworked version of Corona’s classic Rhythm of the Night, mirroring Alesso’s intro at Ultra Miami 2023. This is undoubtedly the most melodic track on the EP, showcasing Alesso’s progressive house roots.

The new Body Hi label and concept seem to be the successor to Alesso’s “Eclipse” project from a few years back, another platform for his house and electro explorations. While often overshadowed by his signature progressive sound, Alesso’s darker side holds a unique charm and intrigue. The Hypnotize EP is a testament to his versatility – a jack-of-all-trades who can craft chart-topping pop anthems, evoke emotions with his melodic productions, and ignite dance floors with his pulsating house beats.
