And with “Good To Me,” he’s set to deliver yet another feel-good anthem that’s sure to light up festivals across the globe.

So, let’s dive into the world of Shane Codd and find out more about what makes “Good To Me” a must-have track for this summer’s playlists.

Can you talk about what inspired you to blend classic 80s R&B vibes with modern house music elements in your new track, “Good To Me”?

I’ve always loved this track! I wanted to put a modern twist on it. With my productions I want to create melodic, uplifting music that makes people feel energised and want to dance. I love old school trance and house, so I wanted to pull from those influences whilst also having a contemporary feel too.

The track features the iconic lyrics from “Just Be Good To Me.” What made you choose this particular song to sample?

I have always loved it growing up and all the versions of it! It’s a classic! Professor green sampled it which I remember as a kid and Dub Good To Me is also sick. There was another bootleg I liked on YouTube years ago and always said I wanted to do a version.

As a DJ, you’ve performed in places like Dubai and across Europe. How do these experiences influence the music you create?

I realise how much I love playing out the old school dance music and fast up tempo stuff as well. It really helps me to see which kind of music I want to make and play out at the same time. ‘Good to me’ and my next single coming shows that.

Can you walk us through a day in the studio when you were working on this track? What was the atmosphere like, and what were some key moments of breakthrough or challenge?

Originally, I had some vocal chops but I realised the original was so good as is that it didn’t need to be messed with!

What are the current trends in the dance music scene that excite you the most, and how have they influenced your recent productions?

I do love the rise in bpm lately and trance sounding music. I’ve always been a fan of trance, and house, of course.

Is there a personal philosophy or life experiences that drive this thematic focus in your work?

I just love music, creating music and sharing music, and this is what I’ve always wanted to do! I’m so grateful that this is what I now get to do everyday.

You’ve achieved significant streaming numbers and chart success early in your career. How do you handle the expectations and pressures that come with such early achievements?

I’m very grateful for success I’ve had and look to keep pushing for more now. I’m just getting started!

With a summer packed with new releases and collaborations, what can your fans expect in the coming months? Are there any projects or collaborations you can reveal?

I’m planning my first ever headline show in my home town or Dublin, Ireland  in August which is going to be a huge night that I can’t wait for. I will also be in Europe over summer. Coming up I have Greece and then I’m heading to the USA touring. It’s looking like a busy few months ahead!

As we wrap up today’s interview, there’s no better way to end than with a taste of Shane Codd’s latest release. Fresh off the heels of his summer hit “Good To Me,” Shane has dropped a brand-new single titled “Exit Lights.” This track promises to keep the dancefloor energy soaring and showcase even more of his signature style.
