Slushii Unlocks a New Album ‘Chrysalis’ and Sci-Fi Webcomic

Julian Scanlan, better known as Slushii, is rewriting the rulebook on what it means to evolve as an artist. His latest project, Chrysalis, released under the name sapientdream, is more than just a shift in sound—it’s a full-blown transformation. The 18-track album trades in high-energy drops for ambient textures and melancholic melodies. It weaves a narrative of personal growth, identity, and inner healing.

But Chrysalis is just one piece of the puzzle. Alongside the album, Slushii launched Sapient Dream, a sci-fi anime webcomic created in collaboration with WEBTOON and SONICDream. The project was introduced at Anime Expo 2025, where fans were given an exclusive first look during a July 5 panel, followed by a high-intensity DJ set titled Operation Overload. The following day, Slushii greeted fans in person during a signing event at WEBTOON’s booth, cementing this moment as a significant milestone in his creative career.

Each chapter of the webcomic pairs thematically with songs from Chrysalis, including the viral TikTok hit “Past Lives.” This innovative approach combines audio and visual storytelling, making the project feel like an emotional odyssey rather than a standard album rollout. Through layered compositions and immersive narrative arcs, Slushii invites fans to experience his world from the inside out.

With Chrysalis and Sapient Dream, Slushii is building his own universe. And from the looks of it, fans are more than ready to follow him there.
