Meta Confirms Instagram Will Start Testing NFTs This Week
According to an announcement issued by CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Meta, the digital giant that owns Instagram, has stated that the popular photo-sharing app would begin testing non-fungible tokens this week.
As per the billionaire, creators and collectors would be able to showcase digital collectibles on their accounts.
Zuckerberg also stated that the app intends to take things a step further by allowing users to display augmented reality NFTs on their Instagram Stories. Spark AR, the largest mobile augmented reality platform, will power the functionality.
According to Zuckerberg, Meta’s social media platform, Facebook, will provide comparable capabilities in the near future.
