OTC Celebrates Life With New Rap Song “So Alive”
Following the release of “Right Now” and “How I Roll,” the Hip Hop and Afro Pop group, OTC, dropped a new single titled “So Alive.” The Christian rap track acknowledges the beauty and adventure of life. The band members reveal that before turning Christian, “they battled suicidal thoughts, gang affiliation, addiction. But their faith in Jesus has given them a new lease of life, a fresh start.”
OTC is short for “Outta The Cage,” which is the testament of the members moving away from “violence, drugs, and low self esteem to peace, sobriety, and self confidence.” The band wants to empower its listeners and help them understand that they’re “significant, valuable, and that they matter at all costs.”
The Manchester-based artists take inspiration from the likes of Gawvi, KB, and Melvillous. Their songs speak to young people and transmit a message of hope. “So Alive” embodies those ideas, especially in its lyrics, “Nobody love me how you love me/ Even on the cross you prayed for me/ Never had I hope I could trust in/Whenever I fall you’re there for me/On the beat, yes he beat goes on/ When I’m weak you make me feel so strong.”
